Started with the Braids - 2

 The entire day he was sad. Neha and the girls kept on teasing him. 

They walked him to his home, as all girls live in the same Street. 

He entered the home with shame. He doesn't know that his mom already know about his new uniform. 

As he entered the home, rekha came to him with excitement. She looked at him from top to bottom, few things are missing like bangles, ankles, earrings. 

Arun, you really look like girl. You are so pretty. Said rekha 

He was embarrassed enough for the day. He went to his room and changed into his night wear and went to his mom 

Mom, can you help me with my hair? Asked Arun 

Rekha smiled and asked him to sit before her. As he did. She removed the ribbons and the Braids. Then she applied oil and started to brush it. 

Arun was thinking about the promise he made to neha. He has to grow his hair till his hips 

Mom, how long does it take to grow my hair till my hips? Asked Arun 

Rekha wad surprised by it. 

Atleast 3 years, said rekha 

He nodded his head. 

Do you want to grow your hair till your hips? Asked rekha 

Arun nodded yes. 

Rekha doesn't know about the promise he made to neha. 

So did the girls uniform fitted you correctly or not? Asked rekha 

It fitted me, why? Asked Arun 

I have already bought the clothe, all I need is your measurements, for your new uniforms, said rekha 

Rekha was excited, she could daily do his hair, dress him up as a girl, teach him household works too. 

Saturday is second Saturday, so it's holiday. 

On Monday, he took his bath and with no choice, he wore his new uniform but could do his duppata. Rekha took it and showed him, how to fold it then she pinned it on his shoulders making a V-shape on his chest. 

If you need any help with the duppata, ask other girls for help, said rekha 

"other girls " thought Arun 

Then she started to do his hair. 

Arun, you have to get up little early from tomorrow onwards, it takes time to get ready as a girl, said rekha 

Arun didn't answer anything but he agreed with his mom. 

While Arun having breakfast, rekha went to her room. 

Mom! I am ready to go, said Arun 

Not yet, said rekha 

She came to him and started to put bangles to his hands. Arun pulled him hands. Rekha looked at him and angrily, like she is gonna beat him. 

If you are going to attend the school as a girl, attend just like all girls, wear necessary things or cut your hair and go like a boy, said rekha angrily. 

After bangles, she inserted small jhumkas to his ear lobes and anklets to his legs. 

Just the his class girls came to his home, 

Hi, aunty, said neha 

Hi, neha. How are you? Asked rekha 

I am fine aunty. How are you? Asked neha 

I am fine. So why all the girls came here? Asked rekha 

Actually, all our class girls go to school together, so we came to pick up Aruna, said neha 

Arun got very angry and rekha was controlling her laugh. 

She is ready to go, said rekha 

She wasn't wearing any flowers, said neha 

I don't have flowers right now. But tomorrow onwards she will wear flowers just like all of you, said rekha 

Neha was wearing a lot of flowers, so she takes some and gave them to rekha 

Rekha cuts them into town half's and walks towards Arun. Arun looks at rekha with pleading eyes but rekha pins the flowers on his two braids. 

Then the girls including Arun starts the walk to the school

 The day before Diwali, as expected Sumanth was shaving his beard. As he was fully concentrated, he didn't notice Neha standing near him.
