Clothes swapped

Kiran looked at his clothes, which are on his bed. They seem different but he thought it might be today's fashion, since he is never into fashion. He thought his sister, Rupa  might have bought them for him for his Aunt's daughter's wedding. He wore them. His hair is just below his shoulders, which he wore in a ponytail. When he looked himself in the mirror, he looked little weird.

Just when he was about to leave the room, his mom, Kavya and His sister Rupa entered the room. They looked at each other for a moment and smiled. Kiran didn't understand.

Why are you smiling? Asked Kiran

Nothing, I told mom, this will fit you but she didn't believe me, said Rupa

OK, Kavya wear YOUR CLOTHES, said Kavya

Rupa smiled and went her room.

While Kavya was talking to Kiran. Rupa told everyone her brother is wearing her clothes and he didn't even know it. And asked them to act normal. Everyone thought it might be fun and agreed. His mom started to introduce him to everyone, she is trying really hard to control her laughter. His aunts daughter, the bride Neha also thought it's funny.

Kiran can you stay here with me, along with the girls till the wedding, asked Neha

Kiran thought it's weird but he agreed. The room is filled with young girls and he is the only man here (he thought).

He was asked to stay with her for the mehendi function as well. He thought he might just sit and watch the ladies. He did for  a while. But one of the ladies asked him to wear the mehindi a little. At first he didn't agree but all ladies requested him. He agreed to wear a little mehindi to his hands but in turn 4 girls sat around him. They started to apply mehindi for his hands and legs simultaneously. He requested them to stop after applying a little but they didn't stop. He got very angry but he don't want shout and make a scene there, so he sat silently till they finished applying.

His mom, sister, his aunt and her daughter were smiling at each other.

Neha (bride) - aunt (Kavya), I have an extra lehenga choli. I think it will fit him perfectly.

They agreed with a smile.

After the mehendi dried, Kiran went to his room and slept.

Next day morning he woke up a couple washed his hands and legs. They are so girly, he thought to himself. He took a bath and came out. He noticed his mom and his aunt standing there.

Kiran - mom, where are my clothes?

Mom - there, to the hanger

He went to the hanger and saw a lehenga choli

Kiran - mom, its a lehenga choli, its for girls

So you can say difference between male and female clothes, said his aunt and she laughed with his mom.

Kiran didn't understand anything. They noticed his confusion.

Yesterday, the entire day you wore your sister's clothes and roamed around. When I came to your room to tell both you and your sister's clothes were swapped, you were already wore it and didn't even know they are girls clothes. So we all played along, said his mom

Kiran was stunned. He wore girls clothes for an entire day.

Neha wanted you to wear this lehenga choli today, said his mom

He immediately said no.

This is Neha's last wish before getting married. I know you both are close as own brother and sister. Do it for her? Said his aunt

Common son, yesterday you wore girls clothes, did something bad happened to you. Everyone's waiting for you, including Neha, do it for her, said his mom

Finally he agreed. His mom and aunt didn't waste any time. He wore the blouse, which is small and reveling. After the blouse, he wore the lehenga, which is heavy and it long as well.

They asked him to sit before the dressing table. When took a step, he stepped on the lehenga was about to fell, his mom and aunt caught him.

When you walk, lift your lehenga just a little, otherwise you are gonna fall, said his aunt

He lifted his lehenga and took small steps and walked to the dressing table. His aunt is a beautician, so she started to show her talent, while he sat silently. While she was applying make up, his mom started to paint his nails. After the make up, his mom took a dangling earrings and inserted them to his ear lobes, she brushed out his hair.

His aunt continued to work on him. She made his hair into bun and decorated it with flowers. His mom fixed anklets to his legs. Two golden bangles to the right hand and a ring to his left hand finger. A bindi finished his look.

He started to feel very and little uncomfortable. It was too much reveling for him. His mom and aunt are satisfied by their efforts. He is looking beautiful.

We should be careful today, I hope boys won't fight for Kiran, said his aunt with a smile

He blushed, while his agree with his aunt. He was hesitate to leave the room. His mom and aunt understood his discomfort. But they assured him, nothing wrong gonna happen. He started to walk towards the door, by lifting his lehenga a little. When they entered the bride's room, everyone were surprised. He was looking so beautiful. They know, he is gonna wear a lehenga, they thought he might look as a boy in lehenga but he is looking as a beautiful girl in a beautiful lehenga. Everyone started to praise his beauty. His sister was surprised a lot, he was looking so good in the lehenga choli than her. He spent time with them and they made him feel comfortable. At the time of the wedding, he escorted the bride along with other girls.

He thought it's so much to be a girl in the wedding rather than being a boy.

By the end of the day, he became friends with many girls. One of them invited him to her wedding as her lady friend and he agreed.

She opened the door and saw a woman standing before her with a pleasant smile.  "Hi, I am Rupa. We just moved here", said Rupa pointing to a house, where Kumari and Sudhakar used to live.  Jaya greeted her back with a smile and invited her into the house.  "We ran out of gas, so If you don't mind, can you lend me gas cylinder? ", said Rupa "Even I don't have extra cylinder ", said Jaya Rupa was little disappointed.  "Just give me a sec", said Jaya and called someone.  After ...

By next Diwali

Kumari went to her new neighbors home with a box of sweets as a Diwali gift.  As Kumari rang the door bell, Jaya opened the door and welcomed Kumari inside with a smile.  As they were talking about few things,  "I saw your daughter drawing a rangoli in the morning. You have raised her very well, the she handled her saree and drew the rangoli is very skillful", said Kumari praising Jaya's daughter.  "Thank you but actually she is not daughter biologically. She is actually my son", said Jaya Kumari laughed listening to it, thinking Jaya is joking, then Kumari realised Jaya is not saying it as a joke, she is serious.  Jaya understood it's very difficult for Kumari to believe it.  "See, during lock down for fun I dressed my son in my saree and he turned out to be very beautiful in the saree. So the entire lock down I insisted him to wear sarees, at first he was reluctant but slowly he got used to it", said Jaya with pride.  Listening to it Kumari was s...
