Blackmailed - 4

 When naveen came home. He directly went to his room to change his clothes. He noticed few  things on his dressing table. Bangles, bindi stickers, hair accessories etc 

Just then rekha entered the room with a pair of anklets in her hand. 

Mom, I am not a girl to wear all these stuff, said naveen angrily 

Rekha tried to convince him calmly. But he wouldn't listen 

Just shut up VANI, said rekha 

VANI again he thought himself

You are going to college dressed as a girl and I want you to dress up properly. When you go out no one should think, you are not dressed properly, said rekha 

Naveen has no idea how to stop his mom. 

Now sit on the bed and show me your ankles, said Rekha 

When he did. Rekha fixed the anklets to his legs. 

Why do I have to wear these now? Asked naveen calmly 

If you wear them in the morning and removing in the evening, it's too much work. Why not wear them at home as well. So you can get used to it. Said rekha 

Then she took few bangles and puts them to his hands. 

Get used to them, so you won't feel uncomfortable in the college, said rekha 

Next day when he went to college wearing bangles, anklets and a small chain around his neck, everyone were surprised. Naveen has dressed just like them. 

It continued for few weeks, one day after college he went home along with Anjali. As he entered, he was shocked to see aunt and her daughter, Rupa. 

Naveen, is that you, asked Rupa. 

She came near him  and saw him from top to bottom. 

Your mom just told me everything about you, I thought she was joking, said Rupa 

He sat beside Rupa and they told him why they are here. Rupa is getting married and they are not going to invite many. Only 20-30 members. 

Looking at you like this, I have a request. Would you wear a saree on my wedding, asked Rupa 

Naveen was stunned. And everyone's looking at him for an answer 

He noticed Anjali was showing her phone. He doesn't know what to say. If anjali shows the video to everyone. Everyone will believe her on the current circumstances. 

So he agreed, which surprised his mom. 

You don't have to worry. Not many are invited and there are not many girls coming also, said Rupa 

Thankfully, I brought two new silk sarees, said his aunt 

She gave one saree to his mom and one saree to him. 

Rupa opened the box and placed the saree on his shoulder, which embarrassed him. Anjali was just smiling. 

After they left, naveen requested Anjali not to tell anyone about this, and Anjali agreed. 

On the day of the wedding, both rekha and naveen reached the wedding Hall. Rupa showed them their room. 

In the morning, in one room Rupa was getting ready and in another room, naveen was getting. Unfortunately rekha has to stay with Rupa. She felt little bad about it. 

After getting ready Rupa was waiting till the priest calls her and rekha was waiting for naveen. In few minutes a beautiful girl entered Rupa's room. Rekha was surprised after she recognised that it's her son. 

He was looking so beautiful in a silk saree neatly draped, the jewellery suited him perfectly. His hair was done in a bun and it's was decorated with flowers. He felt very shy to look at his mom. 

Whose is this girl? Asked a woman 

My daughter VANI, said rekha proudly

She is looking beautiful said everyone, which made rekha proud. 

When priest called for the bride. Naveen wanted to stand at the back but his aunt didn't allow it. He stood next to the bride and slowly escorted her to the stage. 

As the marriage was going on, he stood next to his mom with fear. 

Don't worry. No one will say, you are a boy, said his mom 

There are many boys here. If you like any of them, you can get married here, teased his aunt 

  After the marriage, they are about to leave and naveen wanted to change into his shirt and Pant. 

His aunt arranged a car for them. 

Vani, go to that room and remove the jewellery, said his mom 

When naveen was going,  his aunt stopped him

They are for you, said his aunt 

His mom said no but his aunt didn't listen. 

It's my gift to you, said his aunt. 

As they got into the car, they found few bags there. 

Oh, they are Rupa's clothes. Some are used and some and new, it's for Vani, said his aunt 

Rekha smiled and  said OK 

Naveen was scared. He is worried, his mom might ask him to wear them at home. 

Next day Anjali asked him about everything had happened at the wedding. He told her everything. 

His mom filled his wardrobe with Rupa's clothes but he is happy that she didn't ask him to wear them. 

After a month, it's time for diwali 

The day before diwali, while going home from college 

Vani, tomorrow is diwali. I want you to wear a saree tomorrow, said anjali

Naveen immediately said no. 

Don' make me angry. You know what will happen if you don't obey me, said Anjali, which made naveen silent. 

Next day in the morning, he went to his mom. He was standing silently. He doesn't how to ask her. 

Vani, what are you waiting for. Take a bath and Wear new Pant and shirt, said rekha 

Mom, at the wedding I noticed you were sad for not able to drape me a saree. So if you want, you can drape me a saree now, said naveen nervously

Rekha was surprised and became very happy. She kissed him on his forehead 

You take a bath, while pick a beautiful saree, said rekha 

He slowly walked to his room and to the bathroom. He couldn't believe, he just asked his mom to drape a saree on him. 

When he came out of the bathroom, he saw a silk saree, silk blouse, jewellery and flowers on the bed waiting for him. His mom was really excited. 

After he wore the blouse and the petticoat. His mom joyfully took the saree and started to drape. She made the pleats neatly and tucked into his petticoat and then she neatly the pinned the pallu on his left shoulder. Then he elegantly sat on a chair before the dressing table and rekha started to do his hair. She neatly brushed his hair and braided it. His first braid and many more to come, he thought. 

Then came the jewellery. A small necklace around his neck, golden bangles along with glass bangles to his hands, jhumkas to his ears. She placed a bindi on his forehead. Rekha was exited. Naveen was looking so beautiful. She took the jasmine flowers and pinned them in his hair. She placed few flowers on his shoulder. Looking at naveen, rekha has few tears in her eyes. Naveen doesn't want to look sad to her.  So he gave her a smile.
