Family tradition - 1

 Raghu and his wife, Radha were devastated by what just happened. Their daughter Neha's marriage is canceled on the day of the wedding. 

Neha is in tears because of the humiliation. She doesn't want this marriage, she wanted to study more but because of her father, she agreed to marry a guy but now guy has ran away for someone. 

Sumanth, Neha's elder brother and her sister in law, Anjali tried to console her. 

Marriage is stopped on the wedding day, how will marry her now? , cried Radha 

Just stop it mom, what bad happened. Neha can easily get another match but I recommend you and dad to allow her to study more in abroad , said Sumanth angrily 

Neha felt really happy listening it from her brother. Like any other siblings they always fought, but when it mattered they would look out for each other. 

Raghu and Radha were still thinking about it. 

There is nothing more to think about. She is still very young let her continue her studies, said Sumanth 

After few days of thinking both Raghu and Radha agreed to send Neha abroad to study. 

Listening to it, Neha immediately hugged Sumanth and thanked him for his support. 

Within that week Neha went to abroad. 

After a month, 

Mom, I am going for a hair cut, said Sumanth while going out. 

Radha quickly went to him and stopped him. 

What do you think you doing? Asked Radha angrily 

Sumanth didn't understand, what she was talking about. 

After week before your sister's marriage, we prayed for the God and made a vow not to cut your hair till she gets married , said Radha angrily 

Yeah, that marriage is stopped, so I think I can cut it now, said  Sumanth 

Marriage is stopped but we still need to follow the vow. It has been our family tradition for a long time and now I won't allow you to break it , said Radha 

Sumanth was annoyed. He went to his room and told his wife about it. At first Anjali felt bad but later she started to laugh looking Sumanth. 

Sumanth didn't understand why she is laughing. 

Why are you laughing? Asked Sumanth 

I am just imagining your future. I don't think Neha will get married at least for 4 years. With proper care, you hair will reach your hips for sure, said Anjali laughing 

Sumanth was stunned. He didn't think about it. 

Anjali put her braid forward and said, look at my braid, soon you will have to braid your hair like this. 

6 years later.... 

Radha, where is Sumanth? We are getting late for work. We have to open our saree shop before 9 am, shouted Raghu 

Radha angrily went Sumanth's room and got angrily with what she saw. 

Anjali, how many times, I have told you not to help him with his hair. He has to do it on his own, scolded Radha 

Just then Anjali completed braiding his hair and secured his braid with a scrunchie. 

Sumanth stood up and started to walk past Radha. 

Radha immediately caught his braid and Sumanth felt little pain. She immediately removed the scrunchie and undid his braid. 

Raghu, you go alone. Sumanth will came with me, said Radha. 

I will give you 30 min, neatly brush and braid your hair, warned Radha 

Sumanth got angry. He took the hair brush from Anjali and started to brush his hair. 

Anjali was smiling looking at Sumanth. She really liked to see her husband brush and braid his hair. 

After brushing it for a while, he started braiding his hair. 

After braiding it, he put his braid back angrily. The braid swung and hit his butt. 

Hey, don't do that, scolded Anjali 

After Radha got ready. She saw Sumanth's braid and asked, it's that so hard to do, is it?  

On the way to their saree shop, many people greeted Sumanth and his mom but no one looked weirdly at Sumanth, they have got used to seeing Sumanth in a braid. 

In the shop Sumanth has fans for his braid. All customers really like Sumanth's long and thick hair. 

At night they have spoken to Neha and got to know, she is coming to India in few days. 

Everyone was really happy. Then Sumanth was little embarrassed. Till now Neha doesn't about his hair, he has requested everyone not to tell Neha about it. 

In few days Neha came to India. Raghu and Radha went to pick her up in the airport. 

Sumanth wanted to hid his hair but instead Radha warned him to braid his hair and face Neha.

When Neha came home she immediately hugged Anjali with joy. They used to be so close before Neha went abroad. 

Then Neha looked at her brother, Sumanth. She noticed he has long hair but doesn't know long it is. 

Brother, you seem to have grown your hair like Dhoni, said Neha with a smile. 

Like Dhoni? Laughed Anjali and swung Sumanth around. He turned and his braid swung and rested on his butt. 

Neha was stunned. She immediately ran to him and took his braid in her hands. 

She inspected it and realized it's his real hair, not any extensions thought Neha. 

You didn't tell me about this, said Neha looking at Anjali. 

Sorry, he required me not to tell you about his hair, responded Anjali.

Neha angrily pulled his braid and ran away. 

Owch, shouted Sumanth and started to chase Neha to hit her. 

Looking at them fighting everyone started laughing. 

Neha don't pull his hair, said Radha with a smile 

He used to pull my hair when I was going to school. Now it's payback time, shouted Neha

Radha laughed and thought it's only fair. 

Even after a week, Neha still couldn't believe her brother's long hair. 

One day at night Sumanth was watching TV in the living room and the ladies were outside chit chatting. 

If I was here instead of going abroad, I would have some how draped a saree on him, said Neha with a smile. 

Even we thought about it multiple times, said Radha and smiled looking at Anjali. 

Neha giggled and asked them curiously,  did you both asked him to wear a saree? 

No, we bought a saree and stitched the blouse as well but we didn't ask him. We know he won't agree , said Radha 

For the last 3 years, whenever we bought a saree for ourselves, we bought a saree for him as well and stitched the blouses as well, said Anjali. 

Listening to it, Neha raised her eye brows. 

So,  how many sarees you bought for him till now? Asked Neha

Around 25 sarees, replied Radha 

Neha was surprised by it. 

OK, I will think of something. On Diwali Sumanth is going to wear his first saree, said Neha confidently 

Both Radha and Anjali knows, if Neha says she can do, She will do it. 

Both Radha and Anjali giggled looking at each other.
